First things first

I’m Becky. Thanks for dropping by.

Let’s jump right in — I’m a massive fan of writing things down.

I get through notepads like no one’s business and over the years, I’ve turned list writing into an art form. So, it makes sense that I really should put my words to better use, and save some paper along the way.

But before we go much further, here’s a bit of context for you.

I’m a London girl at heart, but I’ve been in a serious relationship with Suffolk for quite a few years now. I studied Film whilst living in Brighton, am a proud feminist, love travelling and am unfortunately, naturally, a very clumsy person. I once had an illustration side hustle, was an extra in a Channel 4 period drama in Malaysia and almost kissed Richard Attenborough square on the mouth during my graduation ceremony. Almost.

It’s been an interesting ride so far.

So, why have I started writing this blog? Alongside all the fun and games, like so many people, I’ve been through some pretty testing times and have had to do a hell of a lot of learning and growing along the way. Lockdown has meant I’ve been scribbling my thoughts down more often than usual and, without setting out to, I’ve ended up collating some pretty useful tips and advice, if I do say so myself.

I’m not in any way, shape or form a medical professional or trained in psychology, but I am passionate about self development and have done a fair bit of research and reading over the past few years. My own lived experiences shape my writing and you can rest assured I will always approach a subject with empathy, understanding and a little bit of humour along the way.

Whether it’s struggling with Imposter Syndrome at work, coping with perfectionism, plucking up the courage to make a big life decision or tackling daily spells of anxiety, I really hope that some of these words help to demystify those feelings, provide some clarity and most importantly, remind you that you’re not alone.

And if you have a bit of a laugh along the way, even better.
